This project involved installing a circular steel grating maintenance platform around storage tanks, primarily for routine inspection and maintenance.
As the tanks are circular, the platform naturally needed to follow the tank’s circumference. Based on the complete structural drawings provided by the client, we confirmed the dimensions of each fan-shaped unit and further refined the design for precise assembly. This ensured smooth installation and a consistent, visually pleasing overall layout.
The design focus was on thoroughly understanding the drawings, confirming dimension relationships, and planning the assembly sequence.
Each fan-shaped unit was individually refined, taking into account installation gaps, angles, and sequence for proper alignment. Because such details are difficult to adjust later, they were resolved during the design phase to avoid on-site rework.
This approach ensures each grating precisely follows the tank’s contour, naturally reflecting our custom design capabilities.
Although the platform is only for personnel inspection, it still requires structural stability and long-term reliability.
The edges of each grating panel closely follow the tank’s circular contour, and fan-shaped units connect smoothly. Once installed, the platform integrates seamlessly with the tank, both visually and structurally.
Installation followed the pre-numbered sequence, with fan-shaped units connecting naturally. From on-site observation, the completed platform maintained a smooth circular contour, providing stable footing.
Handling the complex jointing issues during the design phase significantly reduced installation difficulty and demonstrated the efficiency advantages of our custom solution.
During production, the focus was on two key points:
Dimensional and angle accuracy — to ensure each fan-shaped unit assembles perfectly on site.
Surface finish consistency — to avoid visible discrepancies after installation.
All panels were packaged according to installation sequence, allowing direct placement on site without further adjustment. This end-to-end process highlights our custom fabrication capabilities.
