Shunbo Wire Mesh provided custom steel grating walkways for an international power company’s substation in Asia. The substation environment is dense with equipment and has limited space, combined with humidity and oil contamination. The walkways needed to be safe, sturdy, and convenient for personnel inspections while allowing efficient installation.
1. Anti-Static Design
To address static electricity risks during transformer maintenance, bolts were welded inside each grating panel, and all panels were interconnected with grounding wires to effectively prevent static accumulation.
2.Slip-Resistant Optimization
To combat potential slipping from oil contamination, panels were customized with serrated surfaces, significantly improving grip and ensuring personnel safety.
3.Aesthetics & Uniformity
To make the walkways visually neat, the engineering team aligned all flat bars in the same direction and designed a support structure so that each panel remained level and straight after installation.

Each panel was carefully measured and adjusted to ensure precise gaps between panels, allowing smooth on-site installation without cutting or modification.
